About the role

  • Own and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for Legal Compliance initiatives, from intake through execution and completion
  • Partner closely with the General Counsel to prioritize departmental initiatives and align resources against business needs
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve project management systems, workflows, and tracking mechanisms for the Legal team
  • Coordinate cross-functional legal projects by aligning internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and leadership on timelines, deliverables, and expectations
  • Act as the central point of contact for project status, proactively communicating updates, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders
  • Manage complex scheduling, prioritization, and bandwidth planning across multiple concurrent legal and compliance initiatives
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to improve speed, quality, and consistency of legal work
  • Support attorneys with key legal initiatives, including due diligence, regulatory filings, and document preparation, as needed
  • Ensure critical deadlines are met by tracking milestones, flagging risks early, and driving accountability across stakeholders
  • Maintain and organize legal documentation, project records, and compliance materials with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assist in managing relationships and workflows with outside counsel, including coordination of deliverables and timelines
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards or status trackers to provide visibility into legal team performance and project progress
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the Legal Compliance function
  • Operate as a trusted partner to legal leadership, exercising sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, or outcomes—not just following existing playbooks

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a corporate legal assistant, paralegal, or in legal operations
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex projects or workflows
  • Experience supporting senior legal leadership (e.g., General Counsel, Managing Partners)
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of concurrent projects
  • Strong understanding of legal processes, workflows, and risk considerations
  • Exceptional organizational and timeline management skills
  • Ability to operate independently and translate high-level direction into structured plans
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Bachelor’s degree
