About the role
- Directly manage, mentor, and support pre-litigation paralegals
- Assign workloads, monitor performance, and ensure coverage across all teams
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and coaching sessions
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new paralegals
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Oversee case workflows to ensure timely progression
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Coordinate with attorneys to ensure paralegal support aligns with case strategy
- Ensure accurate case documentation, reporting, and data entry
- Develop, maintain, and refine standard operating procedures for pre-litigation support
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and jurisdictional requirements
- Monitor case metrics and KPIs to evaluate efficiency and performance
- Implement best practices to improve productivity, quality control, and client service
- Work closely with intake, medical records, demand, litigation, and settlement teams
- Serve as a point of contact for operational issues affecting case flow
- Communicate staffing needs, workload trends, and operational challenges to leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a law firm environment, with pre-litigation and/or litigation cases
- Prior experience managing paralegals or legal support staff required
- Strong understanding of personal injury or civil litigation processes (preferred)
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with case management systems and legal software
