About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and execute POCs with studios, integrating Toon Boom tools into Japanese pipelines.
Develop localized demo assets and documentation.
Provide on-site support during pilot and production phases.
Serve as the technical reference at events and workshops, such as the Japan Production Summit.
Train educators and align school curricula with industry workflows.
Collaborate with sales on client solutions, renewals, and demo delivery.
Liaise with education programs.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in 2D animation production with Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro.
Native Japanese fluency and Business English proficiency.
Strong understanding of cut-out/rig-based animation workflows (Western workflows).
Excellent presentation and cross-cultural communication skills.
Preferred experience as a Production Coordinator, Technical Director, or Rigging Lead.
Deep knowledge of Japanese studio practices and anime production styles.
Experience mentoring or teaching digital animation is a significant plus.
Collaborative, self-motivated, and culturally fluent.
Problem solver thriving in hybrid creative-technical roles.
Passionate about modernizing Japan’s animation workflows.
