About the role
- Lead and manage a remote team of 15+ engineers across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Drive the execution of product roadmap initiatives in collaboration with Product, Design, and Leadership
- Establish engineering best practices around code quality, testing, documentation, and continuous delivery
- Hire, coach, and mentor engineers and team leads—helping them grow and succeed
- Build scalable processes for planning, execution, and feedback (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, OKRs)
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership in alignment with the CTO
- Promote a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement
- Own key engineering KPIs such as velocity, incident response, uptime, and team satisfaction
Requirements
- 7+ years of engineering leadership experience with at least 3 years managing remote or distributed teams
- Proven success leading high-performing engineering organizations in fast-paced, startup environments
- Strong technical background—comfortable engaging in architectural conversations (especially in Node.js / React environments)
- Track record of recruiting, retaining, and scaling diverse engineering teams
- Skilled in building frameworks for velocity, reliability, and team health
- Effective communicator who can align engineering execution with company goals
- Entrepreneurial mindset—proactive, adaptable, and thrives in ambiguity
