About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leads day-to-day and long-range direction for Infrastructure and Operations to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of core IT services aligned with business and enterprise priorities.
  • Translates enterprise IT strategy into functional roadmaps, operating plans, service priorities, and execution goals for infrastructure, operations, service management, and related platforms.
  • Directs the performance, stability, and continuous improvement of infrastructure and operational services, including service support, availability, disaster recovery readiness, asset management, and lifecycle planning.
  • Partners with IT and business leaders to prioritize work, align services to organizational needs, and ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and cost effective.
  • Owns functional budget performance, resource planning, vendor oversight, and service metrics for the assigned portfolio, with accountability for operational efficiency and value realization.
  • Establishes and strengthens operating discipline through defined processes, standards, governance, KPIs, dashboards, and service level expectations.
  • Collaborates with security, compliance, audit, and quality partners to ensure infrastructure and operational practices support risk management, internal controls, and regulated environment expectations.
  • Leads service improvement, modernization, and automation initiatives that improve user experience, reduce operational friction, and increase scalability and resilience.
  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships and influences decisions across a matrixed environment, escalating enterprise-level issues appropriately while independently resolving functional challenges.
  • Leads, develops, and coaches managers and technical leaders within the function, advancing workforce capability, succession readiness, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Contributes to broader IT leadership planning, enterprise priorities, and policy development by bringing forward recommendations, risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities from the Infrastructure and Operations function.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Fifteen or more years of progressive experience in IT, infrastructure, operations, or related business/industry environments
  • Ten years of leadership experience with increasing responsibility for strategy execution, operational performance, budgeting, and talent leadership
