About the role
- Evaluate the financial health of new and existing customers to determine credit worthiness and assign appropriate credit limits.
- Enforce and maintain company’s credit policy, ensuring consistency in credit standards and risk management practices.
- Conduct thorough background checks for new clients to mitigate credit risk.
- Establish and adjust credit limits based on risk assessment.
- Manage overdue accounts and implement strategies to minimize bad debts.
- Manage all aspects of keeping regions accountable to reduction in billing targets and timely invoicing of customers.
- Monitor reports to identify risk and provide insights to management team.
- Support Net Working Capital (DSO / DPO) Automation and Process Improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in credit risk management within the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, Business or related field.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, supply chain financing, and credit risk management best practices.
- Experience with credit risk management tools, CRM systems and data analytics platforms.
- Must be entitled to work in Malaysia and be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
