About the role
- You will provide 1:1 care in a calm, low-stress environment directly in the patient’s home
- You can care for your patient comprehensively and holistically in coordination with your team, our nursing management, physicians and therapists, giving them your full attention
- Our patient is an elderly gentleman in a vegetative/wakeful coma (persistent vegetative state). He receives oxygen intermittently via a tracheostomy but is not mechanically ventilated
- He requires attentive, warm-hearted care, which you as a nursing professional will always provide
- You will be supported by various therapists
- You are the contact person for the patient and his relatives
- You will liaise and communicate with therapists
- Carrying out rehabilitative measures and providing social support
- Outings and trips with the patient and, if applicable, relatives
- Maintaining nursing documentation
Requirements
- You are a qualified geriatric nurse, registered nurse, nursing specialist, or pediatric nurse; alternatively you are already a specialist in out-of-hospital intensive care (e.g. nursing expert for out-of-hospital intensive and ventilator care, specialist nurse in intensive care/anesthesia) or a respiratory therapist
- You are interested in providing outpatient care to patients requiring intensive care
- You bring passion for 1:1 care
- You work conscientiously, independently and responsibly
- You are empathic and provide caring support to your patient
- Willingness to participate in activities with the patient
Benefits
- Individual work in a pleasant private household — no route-based care, only ONE patient
- Great work–life balance through regular 12-hour shifts and approximately 14 shifts per month (full-time)
- Predictable free time thanks to reliable rostering
- Permanent employment contract; fair, performance-based pay with additional benefits such as company pension and more
- Additional benefits like Job-Rad (bike lease), bonus card, preferred-time-off options, and referral bonus programs ("employees recommend employees")
- Comprehensive, individual onboarding as well as continuous support from our experienced and highly qualified team and nursing management
- Regular team meetings and "come together" events for our nursing staff
- Individual training and professional development opportunities are a matter of course for us — this includes qualification as a specialist in out-of-hospital intensive and ventilator care
