About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Under general supervision, reviews and evaluates insurance applications to assess risk, determine acceptability, establish appropriate coverage, and develop pricing recommendations.
- Builds, maintains, and strengthens relationships with agencies and brokers to support business growth.
- Conducts industry research on forms, rates, market trends, and legal developments, and provides recommendations to underwriting staff and management as needed.
- Develops and manages a profitable book of business within an assigned territory, ensuring results align with company growth and profitability objectives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of relevant and progressive middle market contractors E&S professional experience
- Studies toward attaining a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or equivalent insurance designation depending on specialty area
- 4 Year Bachelors Degree / or the equivalent education and/or experience
