Key responsibilities & impact

Under general supervision, reviews and evaluates insurance applications to assess risk, determine acceptability, establish appropriate coverage, and develop pricing recommendations.
Builds, maintains, and strengthens relationships with agencies and brokers to support business growth.
Conducts industry research on forms, rates, market trends, and legal developments, and provides recommendations to underwriting staff and management as needed.
Develops and manages a profitable book of business within an assigned territory, ensuring results align with company growth and profitability objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of relevant and progressive middle market contractors E&S professional experience
Studies toward attaining a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or equivalent insurance designation depending on specialty area
4 Year Bachelors Degree / or the equivalent education and/or experience
