Global Survivor Council Coordinator Consultant
Together for GirlsGlobal Survivor Council Coordinator leading survivor engagement for the VAC Ministerial in Manila. Responsible for recruitment, preparation, and coordination of survivor delegates.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Recruit and establish the Global Survivor Council, in and through both the Brave Movement and other survivor movements
- Convene and facilitate the Council/working group regularly from formation through to post-conference maintaining an active, engaged group throughout.
- Manage the transition from working group to conference delegation as the event approaches, ensuring members are clear on their roles, responsibilities, and the support available to them.
- Develop and deliver a structured preparation programme for survivor leaders: briefing sessions, conference orientation, and targeted preparation for their specific engagements.
- Coordinate survivor input into key TfG/Brave policy and advocacy materials ensuring genuine consultation, not nominal sign-off.
- Prepare survivor leaders for panel participation, bilateral meetings, and media moments with tailored briefing notes.
- Ensure all survivor leaders understand the conference context, TfG/Brave's goals, and their own role clearly enough to engage with confidence.
- Support survivor leaders to attend and inform regional and national consultations and other pre-conference events, matched to their expertise and experience.
- Organize and facilitate a survivor-only event and/or safe space at or around the conference.
- Proactively check in on survivor delegates throughout conference week rather than waiting for distress to become visible.
- Serve as the primary coordinator and welfare contact for all survivor delegates throughout conference week.
- Support survivor leaders in any post-conference advocacy follow-up, coordinating with the PM on the broader follow-up strategy.
Requirements
What you’ll need- More than 5 years of experience in survivor engagement, delegation coordination, or related roles ideally in international advocacy or global policy processes.
- Deep knowledge of trauma-informed practice and demonstrated ability to apply it professionally.
- Experience designing and running an open, transparent selection or recruitment process for a survivor group or delegation.
- Experience working directly with survivor leaders and/or people who have experienced violence, abuse, or other trauma.
- Strong facilitation skills running group processes that are inclusive, safe, and outcome-oriented.
- Experience managing and coordinating a delegation at a high-level international event.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build trust across cultures, languages, and lived experiences.
- Ability to hold space for difficult conversations and support people in distress, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Experience with safeguarding frameworks and protocols is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in English required; Spanish, French, Filipino/Tagalog, or other languages an advantage.
