About the role
- Serve as a “one-stop shop” providing copyediting, design, and translation for externally facing documents, reports, and factsheets
- Deliver between 10 and 20 copyediting, design, and/or translation projects across Together for Girls’ four initiatives
- Work under a two-year master agreement with individual projects defined by work orders specifying scope, timeframe, and budget
- Translate from English into African French, Latin American Spanish, and Swahili, using preferred terminology related to violence against children
- Copyedit documents for consistency, clarity, correctness, and reduced word count, following the organization’s style guide
- Design technical and advocacy reports, factsheets, and other documents using branding guidelines for each initiative
- Coordinate with the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys, Safe Futures Hub, Out of the Shadows Index, and Brave Movement initiatives
- Maintain responsiveness across time zones and meet tight deadlines
- Accept that Together for Girls may withhold payment for services not meeting contract standards
Requirements
- Organization with copyediting, design, and translation capabilities
- Copyeditors with experience in editing technical documents in the child protection or SDG fields
- Certified translators from English into French, Spanish, and Swahili with experience in the child protection or SDG fields
- African French and Latin American Spanish preferred
- Ability to translate from English into other languages is a plus
- Experienced designers with experience working in the child protection or SDG fields
- Responsiveness (being mindful of time zones)
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility and ability to manage tight deadlines and requests
- Additional communications and production services are a plus
- Submit translation, copyediting, and design samples and rates as part of proposal
