About the role
- Research, draft, and produce high-quality external content for TfG and its initiatives – including blogs, longform articles, case studies, web copy, social media, and fundraising materials – by crafting clear, compelling narratives
- Translate sector-specific activities, research findings, and policy developments into accessible, engaging stories for diverse audiences
- Conduct interviews and gather insights from partners, experts, and colleagues to inform accurate, compelling storytelling
- Create graphics in Canva to support and elevate written content
- Ensure content is trauma-informed, empowering, and aligned with TfG’s values and survivor-centered principles
- Manage editorial calendar and maintain a steady pipeline of strategic, compelling content
- Identify story hooks across TfG’s initiatives that highlight impact, elevate survivor voices, celebrate successes, and showcase global Brave movement-building
- Work closely with colleagues across program and development teams to understand content needs and identify cross-initiative storytelling opportunities
- Identify opportunities for evergreen content—including blog series, web pages, case studies, and thematic stories—to showcase the breadth of TfG’s work
- Recommend the most effective channels and formats to bring stories to life and reach target audiences
- Support communications colleagues in implementing digital, social media, internal comms, and news media strategies to help achieve broader team goals during surge times
- Serve as a communications point of contact in meetings, as appropriate
- Assist communications team with foundational communications tasks (e.g., news monitoring, meeting minutes, awards submissions)
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- At least 3-4 years of experience in content creation, journalism, communications, or marketing roles
- Exceptional copywriting, editing, and narrative development skills across multiple formats, including blogs, feature articles, web content and social media
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital platforms
- Experience using basic presentation and design software (e.g., Canva)
- Self-starter with a willingness to take initiative, be creative, and think strategically
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across teams and functions
- Experience working respectfully and professionally with persons who have experienced trauma or hardship
- Experience working in remote or cross-cultural teams
- Fluency in both verbal and written English
