About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support onboarding for new hires by preparing employment contracts, setting up HR systems and accounts, and coordinating with relevant parties.
  • Assist with offboarding and termination processes, including company asset returns, system updates, and final payments or benefits where appropriate.
  • Maintain and update accurate employee records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Respond to employee enquiries about HR policies, benefits, systems, and tools as the first point of contact for routine HR operations questions.
  • Support Payroll, Employment Relations, and Administration with daily tasks.
  • Review HR operations processes, identify recurring issues, suggest improvements, and assist with implementing efficient workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT and Finance on systems access, equipment provisioning, and new-hire setup.
  • Maintain SOPs, process flows, HR systems user guides, and employee or manager FAQs.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience in HR, HR operations, HR administration, or a customer-service environment, including internships.
  • Basic understanding of onboarding, offboarding, record-keeping, benefits, and payroll.
  • Demonstrated bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English in written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, and comfort working with data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional, responsive customer service mindset.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, including identifying root causes and suggesting practical improvements.
  • Preferred: experience with HRIS/HCM systems such as Employment Hero or case/employee-support systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with local employment/labour law.
  • Preferred: exposure to process improvement or operations.
  • Preferred: HR certification or training, such as SHRM or a local HR body, or working toward it.
