About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the premier Network Specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network-related issues
Ensure complex technical infrastructure requirements are met
High-level installation, configuration, and management of network communication equipment
Identify and resolve complex LAN/WAN network problems
Provide consulting on LAN/WLAN/WAN design and implementation
Manage network firewalls, VPN devices, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
Document changes via ticketing systems and create written standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience in network engineering
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline AND five (5) years of related experience, OR completion of a certified Technical or Vocational School AND ten (10) years of related experience
Mastery of networking protocols and technologies
Clear understanding of communications and Internet standards
Direct experience with communications mediums
Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers
Mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments
Active SECRET security clearance
Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III or equivalent certification
