About the role

  • The Role: The Senior Finance Associate at Simple Pharma will play a key role in supporting the financial operations and reporting for the group. You will be responsible for the full accounts receivable cycle, month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and statutory submissions.

Requirements

  • The Role: The Senior Finance Associate at Simple Pharma will play a key role in supporting the financial operations and reporting for the group. You will be responsible for the full accounts receivable cycle, month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and statutory submissions.
  • What You Will Be Doing
  • Accounts & Reporting
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment monitoring, and collections in collaboration with the Outbound Ops team
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journals
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and support other statutory filings
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Business Partnering & Compliance
  • Liaise with internal departments to collect information required for reporting
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements
  • Prepare and monitor key financial KPIs and departmental reports
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems and processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy

  • Required Skills and Competencies
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g. SUMIFS, INDEX, etc.)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (ideally Xero)
  • Clear and confident communicator—able to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work to deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Familiarity with UK VAT reporting and basic statutory compliance
  • Experience supporting audits or regulatory filings is beneficial
  • Experience/exposure to foreign exchange and European VAT
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector and/or a high-growth, fast-paced company is advantageous
  • Exposure to management reporting and financial analysis is a plus
  • Education and Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or currently studying towards qualification
