Requirements
- The Role: The Senior Finance Associate at Simple Pharma will play a key role in supporting the financial operations and reporting for the group. You will be responsible for the full accounts receivable cycle, month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and statutory submissions.
- What You Will Be Doing
- Accounts & Reporting
- Oversee the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment monitoring, and collections in collaboration with the Outbound Ops team
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journals
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and support other statutory filings
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Business Partnering & Compliance
- Liaise with internal departments to collect information required for reporting
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements
- Prepare and monitor key financial KPIs and departmental reports
- Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems and processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy
- Who You Are and What You Bring
- Required Skills and Competencies
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g. SUMIFS, INDEX, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software (ideally Xero)
- Clear and confident communicator—able to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work to deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with UK VAT reporting and basic statutory compliance
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory filings is beneficial
- Experience/exposure to foreign exchange and European VAT
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in the pharmaceutical sector and/or a high-growth, fast-paced company is advantageous
- Exposure to management reporting and financial analysis is a plus
- Education and Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or currently studying towards qualification
