About the role
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to gather user requirements, identify technical constraints, and advocate for the end user.
- Map out the user journey through storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps to ensure a logical and frictionless experience.
- Design intuitive UI elements—from navigation systems and search functionality to interactive widgets—that feel seamless and modern.
- Develop high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes to demonstrate functionality and aesthetic direction to stakeholders.
- Create original graphic assets, sketches, and layout designs that align with the organization’s brand identity.
- Present drafts to internal teams, identify UX friction points (such as responsiveness or accessibility issues), and refine designs based on real-world user feedback.
- Maintain and evolve our design language, ensuring strict adherence to style standards for typography, color theory, and iconography.
Requirements
- 3+ years of UI/UX or Product Design experience, ideally in SaaS or complex workflow environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and design system management.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking, high-fidelity prototypes, and work across complex interfaces.
- Proven ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing to validate and iterate on design decisions.
- High empathy for end users, particularly within church or nonprofit contexts, with a genuine interest in serving their needs through thoughtful design.
- Preferred: Experience working in a cross-functional environment alongside product, marketing, operations, and engineering teams.
- Experience building or contributing to design systems at scale.
- Foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to better collaborate with engineering teams.
- Experience leading user research sessions and synthesizing insights into design improvements.
- Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite.
