About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply experience, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills for the development and review of technical approaches and detailed electrical & control system design
Design and develop electrical and control systems in accordance with applicable specifications, codes, and standards
Perform electrical design calculations, including load flow analysis, short circuit studies, and protective device coordination assessments
Work with engineers and technical experts to design and implement instrumentation and automation systems
Prepare and update technical documentation and drawings—including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, specifications, etc.—for both Power and Control Systems in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards
Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess installation and operation of both electrical and control systems
Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing
Responsible for scoping, executing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments at both task and project levels

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited college or university in Electrical and/or Control Engineering (required)
At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of progressive experience in Electrical and Control Engineering field with a focus on design phase for process engineering projects (required)
Strong background with industrial equipment, electrical motors, and VFDs, power distribution, instrumentation, and process controls/automation (required)
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards (i.e., NFPA, IEEE, etc.) (required)
Experience of participating in and managing multi-disciplinary project teams (required)
Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills (required)
Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred)
