About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS
  • Engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews
  • Incorporate advanced technical practices to develop solutions for a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • successful completion of a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • minimum of 15 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry
  • minimum of 10 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities
  • experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, System Descriptions, Mechanical Equipment Lists, Mechanical Equipment Sizing, Pipe and Valve Specifications, Failure Analysis, Accident Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, ASME Code Design and Evaluation, Pipe Stress Analysis, Material Handling Design, Fire Protection Design, HVAC Design, and Vendor Document Reviews
  • able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site
