About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) for a variety of water and wastewater engineering design projects
Develop civil, mechanical, and electrical layouts, piping and equipment plans, and details for projects
Work closely with designers and engineers to produce design packages
Contribute to projects from the conceptual design stage through construction
Draft, edit, & finalize technical drawings
Operate a CAD computer using appropriate hardware and software
Proofread CAD drawings for accuracy, format, and grammar
Collaborate with other CADD practitioners to prepare design drawings and details

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate’s Degree in Drafting; or graduation from an accredited high school and a minimum of one (1) year experience performing CAD drafting work in a professional setting, or equivalent education, experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of engineering basics, including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, and coordinate systems.
Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files.
Experience with mechanical design.
Experience using the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Basic understanding of the latest releases of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, Adobe PDF, and Windows File Explorer.
Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings.
Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively.
