Early-Career Water Resources Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to water resources and ecological restoration projects
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling
- Design and analyze watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration projects
- Perform surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis
- Design green infrastructure/low impact development best management practices
- Carry out floodplain modeling and permitting
- Implement erosion and sediment control design
- Ensure Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance
- Engage in civil/infrastructure design and site layout
- Conduct site visits/field investigations
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural/biosystems engineering or related science (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering or science (preferred)
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting (preferred)
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55 (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
- Some field work and overnight travel (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
