About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to water resources and ecological restoration projects
Work with a multi-disciplinary team
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling
Design and analyze watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration projects
Perform surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis
Design green infrastructure/low impact development best management practices
Carry out floodplain modeling and permitting
Implement erosion and sediment control design
Ensure Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance
Engage in civil/infrastructure design and site layout
Conduct site visits/field investigations
Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural/biosystems engineering or related science (required)
Advanced degree in engineering or science (preferred)
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting (preferred)
Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55 (preferred)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
Some field work and overnight travel (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
