About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to water resources and ecological restoration projects
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling
  • Design and analyze watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration projects
  • Perform surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis
  • Design green infrastructure/low impact development best management practices
  • Carry out floodplain modeling and permitting
  • Implement erosion and sediment control design
  • Ensure Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance
  • Engage in civil/infrastructure design and site layout
  • Conduct site visits/field investigations
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors degree in civil, environmental, or agricultural/biosystems engineering or related science (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering or science (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting (preferred)
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and TR-55 (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
  • Some field work and overnight travel (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
