About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies
- Developing innovative green infrastructure solutions for the urban environment
- Applying innovative hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, from 1-D to 3-D transport models
- Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs
- In-stream and urban stormwater water quality monitoring and modeling
- Field investigations and construction support services
- Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Preparing erosion and sediment control designs
- Interacting with client representatives
- Directing multi-disciplinary project teams
- Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
- Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring
- Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, agricultural, biological, biosystems engineering, natural resources or other science, with emphasis on water resources or closely related discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred)
- Professional registration or ability to obtain within one year (i.e., P.E., P.G. CPESC, CPSWG) (required)
- At least 7 years of research or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS (preferred)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
- Some field work and overnight travel (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
