About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling;
Watershed and stormwater management design and analysis;
Water quality assessments;
Drainage design and permitting;
Floodplain mapping and flood protection designs;
Data management, analysis, and visualization;
Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water;
Fieldwork such as site visits/field operations oversight, stormwater infrastructure inventories and surface water sampling;
Water resources sustainability and resiliency planning;
Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, tables, figures, specifications, and proposals.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or biosystems engineering, environmental science or similar. (required)
Advanced degree in water resources engineering. (preferred)
Certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT). (preferred)
At least 2 years of professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
Prior research or professional experience with surface water/H&H modeling. (preferred)
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
Strong written and oral communication skills. (required)
Experience with modeling software such as ICPR, SWMM, or HEC-RAS. (preferred)
Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. (preferred)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
