About the role

  • Compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data
  • Perform a variety of multi-media sampling efforts
  • Oversee environmental and remediation construction projects
  • Provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers
  • Work on site-specific project tasks
  • Monitor contractor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with relevant contract documents
  • Provide CQA observation and monitoring on construction and/or environmental activities
  • Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports
  • Ensure project documentation is correct and consistent with company policy & procedures
  • Interact with project personnel and assist in a team approach through open lines of communication and participation
  • Assist in the preparation of the final data packages, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices
  • Observe and abide by policies outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience or an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college
  • Technical experience in construction services, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering disciplines (preferred)
  • Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously (preferred)
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, including survey and topographical drawings (preferred)
  • Experience with the operation of industry typical monitoring and data collection equipment (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs (required)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (required)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, and strong work ethic (required)
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls (required)
  • Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel (required)
