About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data
Perform a variety of multi-media sampling efforts
Oversee environmental and remediation construction projects
Provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers
Work on site-specific project tasks
Monitor contractor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with relevant contract documents
Provide CQA observation and monitoring on construction and/or environmental activities
Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports
Ensure project documentation is correct and consistent with company policy & procedures
Interact with project personnel and assist in a team approach through open lines of communication and participation
Assist in the preparation of the final data packages, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices
Observe and abide by policies outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience or an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college
Technical experience in construction services, geotechnical, environmental, or related engineering disciplines (preferred)
Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously (preferred)
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, including survey and topographical drawings (preferred)
Experience with the operation of industry typical monitoring and data collection equipment (preferred)
Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air (preferred)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs (required)
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (required)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, and strong work ethic (required)
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls (required)
Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (required)
Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel (required)
