About the role
- Complete in-field stream condition evaluations, drainage system inventories, basin delineations, and stormwater and stream restoration project site assessments
- Set up, run, and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models of natural and constructed drainage systems
- Prepare conceptual stormwater and stream restoration designs in GIS and use AutoCAD to prepare construction drawings
- Provide construction management support for stormwater, habitat restoration, and erosion and sediment control projects
- Analyze state and federal stormwater quality regulations and standards and provide stormwater compliance support to municipal, industrial, and construction site clients
- Help prepare comprehensive stormwater management plans, stormwater master plans, and stormwater pollution prevention plans
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other engineers and mentor less-experienced staff
- Take on technical deliverables and develop project management, client relationship management, and business development skills
- Drive to client or company project or office sites as needed for project work
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering or related field (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration (preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience in stormwater and water resources engineering, design, and regulatory compliance; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Proficient level of experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS (preferred)
- Some familiarity with WA Department of Ecology Stormwater Design Manuals and NPDES Municipal, Industrial, and Construction stormwater permits (preferred)
- Experience tracking, managing, and reporting stormwater compliance activities for municipal, and/or industrial, and/or construction sites (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
- Ability to drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites as needed
