Business development, including bringing in new clients, obtaining repeat business, leading proposal preparation, and implementing business development plans
Task and project management: planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors
Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing
Data analysis and preparing maps and figures using GIS/EVS, and database management
Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; review and manage written document production
Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties
Conduct fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction
Direct multi-disciplinary project teams and take task/project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent assignments
Support lead generation, staff development, mentoring, publishing, and visibility at industry conferences
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline (required)
Advanced degree in related discipline (preferred)
At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams (required)
Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients (required)
Proven leadership skills (required)
Ability to handle multiple project assignments, meet strict deadlines, and travel to client facilities (required)
Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations (preferred)
Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
