About the role
- Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M
- Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation
- Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation
- Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting
- Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology or related field (required)
- Advanced degree in the same (preferred)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable (preferred)
- At least 2 years of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, vapor sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation (preferred)
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting (valuable)
- Technical experience in geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines (preferred)
- Experience with construction work such as plumbing, electrical, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical tasks (valuable)
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS (preferred)
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
