About the role
- Work closely with Chief Legal Officer to track, manage and renew Geosyntec’s commercial insurance program
- Support leadership and project managers in understanding the insurance coverage maintained by the company
- Collaborate with Chief Legal Officer and company leadership to review exposures and insurance program
- Collaborate with insurance broker to market, quote, and prepare proposals for clients
- Provide day-to-day service to company’s practitioners, anticipate project insurance needs
- Communicate and collaborate with insurance brokers to address issues
- Track and process premium payments, insurance audits, and assessments
- Request and review certificates of insurance for accuracy
- Manage board material for captive insurance program, review monthly loss runs and support annual premium audits
- Maintain insurance records and keep customers up to date on pending changes in the insurance world
- Provide timely, professional communication to clients, team, carrier representatives and maintain confidentiality of client records
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, or related degree or 3 years commercial insurance experience or 7 years of directly related experience
- Experience renewing commercial insurance program on behalf of a business is strongly preferred
- High degree of critical thinking; ability to solve problems when the answer is not readily apparent
- Demonstrated attention to detail, producing outcomes with minimal errors
- Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with MS Office
- Able to function independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stay informed regarding industry information, coverages, and technology
- Ability to read and analyze insurance documents, contracts, financial reports, legal documents, office procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write correspondence, reports, procedure manuals, and presentations conforming to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, groups of professionals, senior management, project teams, executives, clients and subcontractors
