About the role

  • Compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data
  • Perform a variety of multi-media sampling efforts
  • Oversee environmental and remediation construction projects
  • Perform operation and maintenance (O&M) for a variety of small and large water and soil treatment systems
  • Provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers for a diverse private and public-sector client base
  • Work on your own or as part of a larger field support team on site-specific project tasks
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors, perform extensive fieldwork, and travel for extensive periods of time including overnights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs
  • Attention to detail when taking daily field notes and providing feedback to project managers and supervisors
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls
  • Ability to spend the workday standing and walking across construction sites when needed
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing (e.g., emails) with peers, subcontractors, supervisors, and clients to report findings, convey ideas and explain observations
  • Availability for regular field work and overnight travel
  • Availability for construction-typical scheduling, including frequent early-starts for heat protection
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (provided by employer)
  • OSHA 10-hour training (preferred but provided if needed)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (preferred but provided if needed)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel (required)
  • Practical field experience conducting operation and maintenance of mechanical systems (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air (preferred)
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings (preferred)
  • Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications (preferred)
  • Experience with health and safety requirements typical of construction projects (preferred)
  • Experience with water treatment systems for drinking or wastewater treatment (preferred)
  • Exposure to the execution of in-situ and ex-situ remediation projects technologies (preferred)
  • Experience with the operation of industry-typical monitoring and data collection equipment (preferred)
