About the role
- Supporting projects involving municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) compliance, watershed planning, stormwater best management practice design, sediment assessment and remediation, and environmental permitting
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
- Designing stormwater best management practices
- Preparing technical reports
- Preparing local, state, and federal permit submittals pertaining to surface water and land use regulations
- Preparing proposals for new assignments
- Providing litigation support services, including related to Clean Water Act compliance
- Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
- Driving personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources, or a closely related field of study
- At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of research or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Regular field work and overnight travel
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
