About the role
- Civil design, coastal design, geotechnical investigation, and site layout
- Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and seismic
- Review factual design reports, borehole logs and laboratory testing
- Preparation of geotechnical field investigation specifications and geotechnical interpretive reports
- Prepare foundation and pile design, as well as ground improvement recommendations
- Developing engineering solutions to challenging structural and geotechnical problems and site conditions
- Coordination and support with marine and structural team on projects
- Oversee waterfront structure and marine infrastructure projects
- Design and engineering for areas such as harbors, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads and seawalls, breakwaters and shore protection structures, shoreline stabilization and sediment management
- Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems
- Small project/task management and proposal preparation support
- Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory authorities
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience (7+ preferred)
- Strong oral and technical writing skills
- Familiarity with international geotechnical design standards including Eurocode and British Standards (preferred)
- Familiarity and experience on coastal and waterfront projects (preferred)
- Experience with engineering software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, SAP2000, ALLPILE, STAAD Pro, MATLab, SWAN, SBEACH, MIKE21, and Plaxis (2D/3D) (preferred)
