About the role

  • Civil design and site layout
  • Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, liquefaction triggering, and seepage
  • Geotechnical site characterization
  • Seismic hazard analysis
  • Small project/task management and proposal preparation support
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
  • Plan and execute subsurface investigations
  • Request, review, and interpret lab test results
  • Classify soils and evaluate engineering properties
  • Data analysis, organization, and visualization
  • Fieldwork associated with geotechnical exploration, design, and construction services
  • Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same or geology (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training registration (EIT) or actively pursuing
  • At least 2 years (5 preferred) of related experience
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as Geostudio Slope/W and Seep/W, gINT and/or OpenGround, CPet-IT and Cliq, Lpile and Apile, QuakeManager, Strata, DEEPSOIL, FLAC, PLAXIS, AutoCAD (preferred)
  • Coding experience (i.e., Python, MatLAB, Exce) (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) (required)
  • Occasional fieldwork and overnight travel (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
  • Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.
