About the role
- Civil design and site layout
- Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, liquefaction triggering, and seepage
- Geotechnical site characterization
- Seismic hazard analysis
- Small project/task management and proposal preparation support
- Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications
- Plan and execute subsurface investigations
- Request, review, and interpret lab test results
- Classify soils and evaluate engineering properties
- Data analysis, organization, and visualization
- Fieldwork associated with geotechnical exploration, design, and construction services
- Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in the same or geology (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (preferred)
- Engineer in Training registration (EIT) or actively pursuing
- At least 2 years (5 preferred) of related experience
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as Geostudio Slope/W and Seep/W, gINT and/or OpenGround, CPet-IT and Cliq, Lpile and Apile, QuakeManager, Strata, DEEPSOIL, FLAC, PLAXIS, AutoCAD (preferred)
- Coding experience (i.e., Python, MatLAB, Exce) (preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) (required)
- Occasional fieldwork and overnight travel (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
- Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.
