About the role
- Perform electrical designs of projects from conception thru design completion including collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
- Modify and review electrical drawings
- Perform cable ampacity and trench design using software packages
- Modeling of electrical systems using software packages
- Support Project Managers or other staff on design of power generation and renewable energy projects
- Design electrical components for projects needs and requirements as set forth by Project Managers
- Applies strong knowledge of electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes and procedures using common electrical industry standards
- Support Project Managers or other staff on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
- Provides input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutions
- Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
- Six (6) years or more of professional electrical experience
- Five (5) years or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experience
- Five (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferred
- Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred
- Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
- ETAP or SKM software experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
