About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for supporting the strategic and financial management of the energy area, performing market analysis, budget planning, economic-financial evaluation of projects and structuring information to support executive decision-making, ensuring cost efficiency, governance and sustainability of results.
  • Centralize and structure the procurement process for the energy area, focusing on energy contracting in the free (open) energy market and projects in distributed generation, self-generation, energy efficiency and other initiatives with relevant economic-financial impact.
  • Prepare, review and validate technical-economic studies, business cases and financial feasibility analyses, considering CAPEX, OPEX, payback, NPV, IRR, projected savings, regulatory risks and impacts on the company’s budget.
  • Monitor regulatory, tariff and market trend changes in the energy sector, translating their effects into opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation and updates to the financial assumptions of projects.
  • Plan, prepare and track the area’s budget, including CAPEX, OPEX, forecasts, provisions, financial commitments, disbursement schedules and variance analysis against the approved budget.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the area and its projects, assessing deviations between actual, budgeted and projected figures, impacts on results, benefits realization, recurring savings and potential budget overruns.
  • Support the data team in defining business rules, financial indicators, cost bases, calculation assumptions, executive dashboards and management reports to monitor the area’s performance.
  • Lead the area’s financial governance, ensuring internal controls, traceability of information, audit readiness, adherence to corporate policies, compliance and consistency between contracts, purchase orders, invoices and payments.
  • Support contract management from an economic-financial perspective, monitoring adjustments, amendments, renewals, guarantees, penalties, financial obligations and budgetary impacts resulting from negotiated commercial terms.
  • Control the financial pipeline of the area’s projects, tracking approvals, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, measurements, invoicing, provisions and settlements to ensure predictability and adherence to corporate deadlines.
  • Develop sensitivity and scenario analyses to support decisions on energy procurement, market exposure, load migration, energy efficiency and investment prioritization.
  • Track value-generation indicators such as savings, avoided costs, reduction of tariff exposure, project returns and the evolution of captured benefits versus approved assumptions.
  • Act as the energy area’s focal point with Finance, Controllership, Procurement, Legal, Tax, Accounting and technical teams, ensuring alignment between strategy, contract execution, budget and financial results.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance or related fields.
  • Knowledge of laws, decrees, regulatory resolutions and other legal instruments governing the Brazilian electricity sector.
  • Experience in the energy sector, preferably with the free energy market, distributed generation, energy efficiency, self-generation and tariff formation.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and CAPEX/OPEX control.
  • Experience in business cases, feasibility studies, payback, NPV, IRR and scenario analysis.
  • Experience in financial management of projects, contracts, purchase orders, provisions, invoicing and payments.
  • Experience with indicators, dashboards, management reports and executive materials.
