About the role
- Execute configuration, administration and troubleshooting tasks on physical and virtualized networks within the NFVi environment, including L2/L3 switches, virtual switches, SDN controllers and overlay/underlay networks.
- Perform acceptance tests and functional validation of new elements and systems.
- Work with monitoring and inventory teams to validate integrations, adjust metrics and ensure full visibility of the environment.
- Document operational routines and troubleshooting procedures and propose continuous improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Monitor network KPIs and metrics, applying tuning, load balancing and preventive adjustments to avoid congestion, packet loss and bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving VLANs, VXLAN, BGP/EVPN, OSPF; port-channels, VLT/MLAG, STP/ERPS and overlay/underlay architectures.
- Provide technical support for NFVi infrastructure evolution projects, such as upgrades, migrations and integrations.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and continuously improve the environments.
Requirements
- Experience operating and troubleshooting medium- to large-scale virtualized or NFVi environments.
- Hands-on experience with multivendor L2/L3 switches (Huawei, Dell, Cisco, HPE, Nokia).
- Knowledge of virtualized networking and related technologies such as OpenDaylight, SDN controllers, virtual switches (OVS, proprietary vSwitches), overlay systems like VXLAN and EVPN, and SD‑WAN.
- Advantage: Experience troubleshooting networking in mainstream operating environments (bare metal and VMware virtualized environments).
- Advantage: Knowledge of automation and scripting, such as Shell, Ansible, PowerCLI, Perl and Python.
- Advantage: Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Advantage: Familiarity with telemetry and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK/EFK.
- Advantage: Knowledge of security best practices applied to virtualized environments, including hardening of switches and routers, logical access management, network segregation and microsegmentation.
- Advantage: Knowledge of security best practices applied to virtualized environments, including hypervisor hardening and access management.
- Advantage: Basic knowledge of container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Intermediate English (reading, speaking and writing).
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Systems, or Network Engineering.
- Availability to work in a shift model, 5x2 schedule with weekend on-call.
