About the role

  • Design and build the core infrastructure platform supporting Tide’s global businesses
  • Complete and evolve a Kubernetes-based deployment platform and roll it out to new markets
  • Write Terraform and Helm charts to define infrastructure and configure middleware/shared services
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure platform meets their needs
  • Collaborate with Information Security to meet regulatory obligations
  • Support engineers directly to identify tools and access needs and work with Developer Experience to implement them
  • Identify, research and implement new technologies to improve the platform
  • Promote understanding of platform capabilities across Tide’s engineering department
  • Mentor and teach peers and participate in on-call rota

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, majority in DevOps/Cloud Engineering roles
  • Spent the majority of career working in Cloud hosted environments
  • Consider yourself an AWS expert with recent hands-on AWS experience
  • Very strong Kubernetes, Terraform and Python skills
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Golang
  • Understanding of the GitOps pattern and experience in related technologies (ideally ArgoCD)
  • Good understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem; experience with Traefik, Linkerd, KEDA and HCP Vault
  • Platform mentality: building services consumed by engineers
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated and security-conscious industry
  • Willingness to take part in on-call rota
