About the role

  • Safeguard Tide’s cloud environments and protect members, partners, employees, and IP
  • Work closely with the Platform Team, Risk Team, and broader Tide Engineering teams
  • Enhance visibility of cloud resources and ensure secure configuration of infrastructure
  • Design next-generation cloud infrastructure to minimise manual processes like patching
  • Define and embed security best practices and standards into cloud engineering teams
  • Build guardrails and define IAM policy to ensure least privilege
  • Identify ways to prevent new security misconfigurations being introduced via Infrastructure as Code
  • Harden existing cloud infrastructure
  • Review cloud integrations between Tide and third parties and act as point of contact for cloud security incidents

Requirements

  • Good infrastructure security experience and passion for tackling risks from misconfigurations
  • Deep expertise in at least one public cloud, preferably AWS or GCP
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerised applications
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes and how to secure workloads running in a Kubernetes cluster
  • Familiarity with the cloud-native approach to implementing workloads in a Kubernetes cluster
  • Comfortable writing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab Actions, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Able to review and write Terraform and propose improvements to external providers
  • Ability to write reliable software in Python or Go
  • Operations experience running and maintaining software, operating a large cloud deployment, or creating and triaging alerts around system health and security
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner effectively with stakeholders
  • Self-driven, able to identify high-leverage work without explicit direction
  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to share knowledge
