About the role
- Build, evolve, and operate backend services within a microservices ecosystem (across billing, payments, volume, market communication, and internal tooling)
- Take operational ownership: monitoring, incident response, on-call readiness, and continuous reliability improvements (DevOps)
- Drive measurable improvements in within the area, for example improve payment rate
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and market specialists to turn complex requirements into solutions
- Reduce complexity by clarifying boundaries, defining interfaces, and improving service-to-service contracts
- Champion a platform mindset by treating internal APIs and tools as products used by other teams
- Contribute to technical discussions, architecture work, and longer-term initiatives across all of our markets
Requirements
- Have senior backend experience building and operating distributed systems in production environments
- Bring strong engineering practices (testing, observability, CI/CD) and care about running what you build
- Are comfortable in high-transaction domains where correctness, traceability, and reliability are non-negotiable
- Collaborate with a team-first mindset: invite input early, surface blockers fast, and give/receive feedback in a constructive way
- Located in Stockholm or Førde (or open to relocating) and able to work from our office 2-3 days/week
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
