About the role
- Lead claims data analyses that quantify Thyme Care’s impact on clinical outcomes, and support the overall communication of Thyme Care’s value proposition to external customers.
- Plan and execute internal population health analyses, providing guidance to the organization on the best way to interpret performance on key claims-based outcomes.
- Help structure and execute analyses that identify the potential savings opportunity associated with provider partnership and new clinical interventions.
- Support the development and maintenance of financial models that map the organization’s operational activities to claims-based outcomes that drive Thyme Care’s financial performance.
- Support claims data quality checks, executing root cause investigations associated with data anomalies and triaging issues with data science teams.
- Work cross-functionally with department leads to identify important measurement gaps for key performance indicators and develop solutions.
- Drive the standardization of measurement definitions across the organization and champion best practices in analytic reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience conducting population health analyses at a payer, integrated healthcare system, or managed/value-based care organization.
- Possess deep knowledge of industry standards for clinical outcomes definitions and risk-adjustment methodologies used in quality of care evaluations
- Prior experience developing financial models and/or forecasts in Excel that evaluate the cost of care impact of clinical interventions.
- Expert at using SQL to pull and transform data in a structured manner from large healthcare claims databases.
- Prior experience with Python or other Programming Languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with BI Tools like Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or Qliksense.
- Experience working across organizational functions and building rapport with data and clinical teams.
- Strong communication and critical thinking ability, having demonstrated the ability to articulate the “Here’s What”, the “So What”, and the “Now What” to executive audiences or external parties.
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitatively oriented field; Advanced degree a plus.
