About the role
- Implementing powerful data monitoring techniques to drive effective DLP policy enforcement
- Data sensitivity labeling
- Architecting and deploying data monitoring solutions
- Ensuring response policies are in place to protect organizational data
- Risk management and being able to partner closely with our risk team to drive organizational change
- Advising other teams on security best practices within our workspace
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to security product development
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and debugging for data monitoring-related issues, as well as assisting with troubleshooting across other security solutions
- Support on call after hours issues as needed per on call rotation
- Critical situation calls at all hours, based on relevance to our technology stack
- Contribute to developing engineering practices, templates and frameworks in collaboration with the team
- Apply technical knowledge to drive outcomes for customers
- Ability to work and problem solve independently on initiatives that align to the broader engineering strategy
- Participate in team’s collaboration sessions to provide technical expertise to solve a problem/remove technical roadblocks for the team
- Participate in product planning and implementation. Helps team to understand and decompose work
- Provide guidance to junior engineers to help them learn foundational engineering skills
- Provide domain expertise on software products in their area to junior engineers to help them learn/grow their skills and contribute as part of the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of IT experience
- 3+ years of data monitoring/DLP engineering experience
- Strong understanding of data security fundamentals
- Strong understanding of information security best practices
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex issues
- Exceptional communication skills across technical and business areas
- Must be self-sufficient and have great attention to detail
- Thought leader within the data monitor/DLP engineering space
- Ability to keep up to date with security trends in the industry
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Nice-to-Have: Microsoft Purview experience
- Nice-to-Have: Experience working within the Product Operating Model
- Nice-to-Have: Sound knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices
- Nice-to-Have: Development experience in Python (preferred) or other programming languages for automation
- Nice-to-Have: Background in financial services or other highly regulated industries
