About the role
- Deploy network infrastructure and services for Thrive’s new and existing customers
- Utilize Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco, Meraki and Extreme switching, Meraki and Ruckus wireless
- Perform product evaluations, upgrade implementations, network expansion, monitoring and documentation
- Analyze and document unfamiliar network environments
- Coordinate equipment installation, service testing and problem resolution with relevant teams
- Deploy and activate network solutions and internet circuits and complete activities during maintenance windows
- Troubleshoot networking incidents and escalate to senior engineer when necessary
- Transition deployed services to support team with relevant documentation for long term maintenance
- Communicate project plans, potential impact and testing procedures directly with customers
- Follow established standards and contribute to process improvement
- Demonstrate time management to accomplish large projects
Requirements
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a team-first attitude
- 1-3 years Networking and Firewall experience
- Proficient with IPV4 protocols, VPN, TCP/IP and Next Generation Firewalls
- Knowledge and experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Meraki, Cisco, Ruckus, and Extreme products
- Experience with Visio required
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (NAble, Solarwinds) preferred
- Excellent problem solver; able to prioritize and coordinate between multiple projects
- Experience troubleshooting network configuration and hardware issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree, Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
- Fortinet NSE4 or higher certification preferred
