About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide specialist technical support regarding thermofluids and computational fluid dynamics to clients across energy, energy storage, carbon capture and storage, infrastructure, and defense sectors
Help drive new business opportunities
Provide support and guidance to other staff across technical areas
Oversee team members solving challenges across the full lifecycle of facilities
Identify new opportunities across different industries
Work on consultancy projects and interface with UK and overseas customers
Support others and lead projects across multiple workstreams
Attend client meetings to present results
Help prepare project proposals as part of office business development
Assess, design, enhance, and improve the performance of engineering systems and processes
Collaborate with Thornton Tomasetti colleagues in US offices and international teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Enthusiasm for developing new work streams and identifying opportunities with new and existing clients
Comfortable tackling new technical problems with attention to detail
Capable of undertaking written reports and oral presentations
Robust understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
Experience using commercial CFD packages such as ANSYS-CFX, ANSYS-Fluent, FLACS, and OpenFOAM
Degree in a relevant applied mathematics, physical science, or engineering discipline, or equivalent training/experience
More than 7 years of professional experience in this field
Ability to obtain UK government security clearance
