About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead development projects while actively working on the systems
Develop new spectrometer concepts and optical designs
Define requirements and develop system architectures
Build and test prototypes in the laboratory
Analyze and optimize spectral resolution, efficiency, and stray light
Coordinate development with mechanical, electronics, firmware, and production engineers
Collaborate with external suppliers
Support new products from concept through to series production

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics or a related field
Several years of professional experience (approx. 3–5 years) as a project manager in optical systems or spectroscopy
Solid hands-on experience in assembling and testing optical systems
Strong interest in independently implementing and advancing technical projects
Structured, solution-oriented way of working and a strong affinity for practical development work
Very good communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
