About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development projects while actively working on the systems
- Develop new spectrometer concepts and optical designs
- Define requirements and develop system architectures
- Build and test prototypes in the laboratory
- Analyze and optimize spectral resolution, efficiency, and stray light
- Coordinate development with mechanical, electronics, firmware, and production engineers
- Collaborate with external suppliers
- Support new products from concept through to series production
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics or a related field
- Several years of professional experience (approx. 3–5 years) as a project manager in optical systems or spectroscopy
- Solid hands-on experience in assembling and testing optical systems
- Strong interest in independently implementing and advancing technical projects
- Structured, solution-oriented way of working and a strong affinity for practical development work
- Very good communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
