About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and influence product direction, cloud infrastructure, and application architecture
  • Design and ship client-facing REST APIs, defining contracts up front and prioritizing developer experience and consumer ergonomics
  • Build scalable cloud services processing millions of documents per month using AI/ML technologies including LLMs
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, scientists, and legal experts
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Contribute to the team's engineering culture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Strong focus on cloud-native application hosting and maintenance, preferably on Azure; AWS or GCP also valuable
  • Experience designing and building clean, well-documented client-facing REST APIs using an API-first approach
  • Experience defining API contracts using OpenAPI / Swagger before implementation
  • Strong proficiency in C# / .NET and SQL
  • Working knowledge of Angular
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Experience with version control using Git
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, testing, monitoring, and incident management
  • Technical leadership experience, including mentoring junior developers, code reviews, training, and technical decision input
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems creatively and effectively
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
  • Willingness to participate in the team's on-call rotation
  • Familiarity with other strongly typed languages is a plus
  • Experience with AWS or GCP is a plus
  • AI/ML, MLOps, large-volume document processing, NLP, and/or LLM-based application experience is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the legal industry is a plus; legal tech experience is particularly welcome
