About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and produce original video and audio programming focused on Washington, business, technology, markets and global affairs
- Identify and shape story ideas explaining Washington's impact on people, companies and economies worldwide
- Book guests, develop segments and build episodes with Reuters correspondents, editors and producers
- Write scripts, interview briefs and editorial materials
- Produce and edit video and audio content for streaming, podcast and digital platforms
- Conduct research and translate complex policy, regulatory and geopolitical developments into clear storytelling
- Host segments or interviews when appropriate
- Collaborate across multiple bureaus and time zones
- Contribute ideas for new formats, franchises and audience-growth opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience producing video, audio or digital journalism in a fast-paced news environment
- Strong understanding of Washington's political, regulatory and policy landscape
- Excellent news judgment and ability to identify stories that resonate beyond the daily political cycle
- Understanding of how Washington shapes global geopolitics, business, technology, financial markets and international affairs
- Strong writing, scripting and storytelling skills
- Experience producing and editing video and/or audio content
- Ability to work collaboratively across a global newsroom
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience producing interviews, explainers, documentaries or news magazine-style programming preferred
- On-camera or audio hosting experience preferred
- Experience developing new editorial products, shows or content franchises preferred
- Knowledge of U.S. government institutions, policymaking processes and regulatory agencies preferred
- Familiarity with audience trends across streaming, podcast and digital platforms preferred
