About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of customer-facing and partnership agreements
- Work within the Government and broader Customers & Commercial teams to identify legal, regulatory and compliance requirements
- Provide practical and insightful business and strategic advice
- Research and respond to general legal inquiries from internal customers
- Operate within policy guidelines and requirements set for Thomson Reuters lawyers
- Contribute know-how to the group’s Knowledge Management initiatives
- Work with members of the General Counsel’s Office on enterprise-wide legal issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years post-qualification experience in private practice and/or as in-house legal counsel
- JD required
- Excellent technical legal knowledge in government contract and commercial law
- Familiarity with various contracting vehicles including cooperative agreements, RFPs, GSA Schedules
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, desire to quickly learn about Thomson Reuters’ products
- Excellent communication, negotiation, drafting, organization, and analytical skills
- Experience and/or interest in using AI tools and other legal technology
- Authorized to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction or jurisdictions
