About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and optimize cloud-based streaming infrastructure including cloud acquisition, encoding, packaging, and origin services.
  • Lead innovation initiatives to enhance the live streaming stack, bridging the gap between cloud technologies and production requirements.
  • Work with emerging technologies and trends in the streaming industry to keep our live streaming capabilities at the cutting edge.
  • Support new feature development by understanding its impact on live streaming operations and ensuring scalability.
  • Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable applications (Python, NodeJS, Java).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define software requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure applications are built using the latest best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to cloud-based streaming components.
  • Monitor live streaming events to ensure high-quality delivery and promptly address technical issues.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience on Python and Java backend cloud-based applications.
  • 4+ years’ experience on Live Streaming (Wowza, TVU, AWS).
  • 2+ years’ experience on NodeJS backend cloud-based applications.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud services, preferably of AWS.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies.
  • Proven skills in maintainable and testable code.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
