About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain, secure, and optimize complex network infrastructure
Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and security teams for compliance and reliability
Upgrade, configure, and secure network equipment and software
Ensure compliance with security guidelines (SOC2, STIG, NIST)
Troubleshoot connectivity and bandwidth issues
Document network configurations and changes
Participate in cross‑training and establish/enforce security compliance policies
Perform after-hours maintenance and support when required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience
Industry certifications preferred
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and the OSI model
Experience with AWS networking (Transit Gateway, VPCs, Route53)
Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)
GitHub experience
Cisco networking platforms (Nexus NX‑OS, Catalyst IOS)
Cisco and Palo Alto firewall platforms (Firepower FTD/FMC, PAN‑OS)
VMware vSphere networking (distributed switches)
Networking for containerized environments
Wireless networking (Wi-Fi design, security, troubleshooting)
High availability networking (LACP)
IPsec site‑to‑site VPNs with IKEv2 across different vendors
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. National Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements
