Senior Director, Finance – CIO, Operations & Technology

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead finance business partnering with CIO and leadership to deliver financial and operational targets.
- Own technology spend strategy including governing Software, Telecom and IT spend, budgets, and forecasts.
- Drive investment decision-making: Build business cases, ROI models, and capital plans.
- Optimize cost and performance: Improve resource utilization, productivity, and efficiency.
- Deliver financial planning & reporting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Support commercial outcomes with financial input to vendor negotiations and cost modeling.
- Enable M&A activity through due diligence, integration modeling, and synergy tracking.
- Strengthen stakeholder partnership aligning CIO with Product, Engineering, and business teams.
- Ensure financial integrity: Partner with Accounting on accurate financial treatment.
- Lead and develop team: Build capability and performance of the finance team.
- Drive finance transformation: Advance automation, analytics, and financial systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recognized accountancy qualification or equivalent with extensive experience in Finance roles.
- Relevant experience including experience with technology teams, capital planning and associated systems would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and people skills; ability to converse with senior management openly and confidently.
- Ability to synthesize information and present results to senior executives.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and their application.
- Experience thinking strategically and building business development plans.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proactive, organized, ability to multitask, managing time and competing priorities effectively.
- Enjoys working in teams and effective across all business functions.
