About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sell Reuters and Reuters partners' picture and video content to major clients across media, advertising, and entertainment industries
- Act as the escalation point for complex or high-value client enquiries
- Line manage and coach a team of 2-3 sales executives
- Set individual and team targets, review pipeline, and support professional development
- Maintain deep working knowledge of Reuters archive video and picture content
- Proactively hunt for and develop new business opportunities, including new clients, markets, and revenue streams
- Take personal ownership of key growth targets for the region
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders at existing and potential clients
- Tailor sales approaches, pricing, and recommendations to client needs
- Manage client expectations and resolve escalated issues
- Negotiate commercial terms on higher-value or complex sales agreements
- Stay current with partner content, market trends, and industry developments
- Provide expert advice to clients and inform the team's sales strategy
- Report team and individual sales performance against targets
- Provide accurate forecasting and pipeline visibility to the Sales Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable experience in media sales, ideally at a large media or news organisation
- Strong understanding of media industry trends
- Experience buying and/or selling archive content (video, images, or footage) within a media organisation
- Strong track record of business development and proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing new client and revenue opportunities
- Passion for news and journalism and keen awareness of current and historical affairs
- Attention to detail and methodical approach to managing projects
- Ability to assess the quality and relevance of information to clients' needs
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Collaborative, hands-on leadership style
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Experience with licensing platforms
- Experience managing, coaching, or mentoring sales professionals, or readiness to take on line management of a small team (2-3 direct reports) (preferred)
- Existing network among archive and rights holders, production companies, or broadcasters (preferred)
- Additional languages a plus
