About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handling a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls for the purpose of scheduling appointments
  • Triaging patients symptoms/issues and routing calls and cases to providers appropriately and in a timely fashion
  • Answering inbound calls and placing outbound calls to complete appointment scheduling for patients, following physician-specific criteria, based on appointment type and patient needs
  • Triage patient symptoms, questions, and concerns to schedule an appointment or escalate to a triage nurse, if necessary
  • Complete patient registration in Allscripts
  • Triage and route patient messages to appropriate staff members clinic wide

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with medical scheduling, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with electronic health records, preferably with Allscripts
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and insurance companies
  • Skill at communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Skill in attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to be patient in tense situations
  • Ability to be a good representative of Think.
