Clinical Scheduler
Think Whole Person Healthcare AksarbenClinical Scheduler handling patient appointment scheduling in a high-volume healthcare setting. Responsible for inbound and outbound patient calls for appointments and triage.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handling a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls for the purpose of scheduling appointments
- Triaging patients symptoms/issues and routing calls and cases to providers appropriately and in a timely fashion
- Answering inbound calls and placing outbound calls to complete appointment scheduling for patients, following physician-specific criteria, based on appointment type and patient needs
- Triage patient symptoms, questions, and concerns to schedule an appointment or escalate to a triage nurse, if necessary
- Complete patient registration in Allscripts
- Triage and route patient messages to appropriate staff members clinic wide
Requirements
What you’ll need- School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with medical scheduling, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with electronic health records, preferably with Allscripts
- Knowledge of medical insurance and insurance companies
- Skill at communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Skill in attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to be patient in tense situations
- Ability to be a good representative of Think.
