About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform laboratory services including management of assets, garments, gas cylinders, dry ice, incubators, and water baths
- Handle shipping and receiving, order delivery, and glassware processing
- Process chemical and biological waste
- Receive and reconcile chemical inventory
- Conduct safety maintenance inspections
- Perform freezer maintenance
- Analyze, maintain, and reconcile reports to ensure contractual requirements are met
- Proactively communicate customer concerns and potential problems to the supervisor
- Address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes
- Participate in safety programs, including hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation
- Engage in process improvement activities
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by management
- Work primarily at customer sites, potentially independently
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting preferred
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold Thermo Fisher Scientific’s values
- Interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at customer sites
- Ability to independently operate handheld scanners and enter data in various systems
- Analytical skills to reconcile reports
- Computer proficiency and intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Organizational skills to multitask and meet due dates
- Ability to lift 30–40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs using equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, and forklifts
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual material handling for prolonged periods
- Ability to work in varied temperatures
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Successful completion of Thermo Fisher pre-employment screening, including background check and drug test
- Successful completion of any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements
- Steel-toe shoes required for all colleagues
